I dont doubt that the stories told during the last 70 years of the people still alive that went thru this to some degree, but is there any possible chance of some tall tales or sensationalized reports or even blatent lies going on?
And why does the rehashing of all this have to be gone over and over like a broken record?

Tyler, historians do not reply upon “stories” for accuracy or historical veracity. Historians only use empirically-vetted facts, preferably physical evidence. So, while we have literally thousands of anecdotal verifications that all point to the fact that millions of innocent Jews were systematically exterminated by Nazi Germany, we in higher education prefer to use empirical evidence for proof. In this endeavor, we find abundant and robust evidence for the murder of millions of innocent Jews. For example, records from the Wannsee Conference prove that Nazi leaders desired to exterminate all of Europe’s Jews, mostly with gas chambers and cremation. This physical evidence exists in the US National Archives, at Yad Vashem, at the US Holocaust Museum and many other locations. Feel free to look it up yourself, on the Internet. We also have physical evidence of the original death camp architectural records, revealing gas chambers and crematoria for massive-scale exterminations. We have Nazi death camp records, proving by name and number each of the millions of murdered Jews. We have the physical evidence of crumbling death camp buildings, replete with gas chambers and crematoria. We have the testimony of Nazi leaders, SS officers, guards and camp workers – all agreeing that millions of Jews were murdered. We even have the testimony of Polish farmers, asserting that they received tens of thousands of metric tons of human ask, to be spread upon fields of crops or to be placed into rivers and streams, especially the Vistula. Finally, we have the testimony of the victims themselves.
Tyler, no one is forcing you to read or research Holocaust records. The Jewish people do not desire your attention, your respect or any comment. The Holocaust remains the most widespread and egregious genocide in history against one religious group. It also remains the most researched event in history. Literally thousands of thesis and dissertation projects were focused upon the Holocaust.
But Tyler, here is the bottom line. Here is why we continue to discuss the Holocaust and all genocides in history. In the words of philosopher and writer George Santayana, “Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” In other words, if we stop discussing it, then other genocides are much more likely to happen in the future.
In conclusion, Tyler, forget about all of the stories of Holocaust survivors, despite the fact that they seem to be highly accurate. Even if we discounted all of their comments, or suggested that they were “sensationalized,” we would still have the vast collection of physical data and the testimony of the perpetrators, admitting that they murdered millions of innocent Jews. Tyler, when the criminal admits guilt and when all of the physical crime data agrees with that admission of guilt, we have an airtight case.
We have focused on all of the robust research using empirically valid means. Those agree and coincide with the survivor’s testimony and prove that about six million innocent Jewish men, women and children (along with millions of other innocent people) were exterminated in favor of a “pure Aryan Europe.” By keeping these facts alive, we hope to prevent another genocide in the future.
But what would be wrong with having a country of Aryans? Does not the Jews have their own country?
Hi Tyler. Thanks for your thoughtful comment. In essence, there is no reason why there can’t be a nation with only Aryans. In fact, by all means, feel free to start one. You could call it “Aryanville, Naziland” or “White Christian People are Only Welcome Here” nation. OK, that last one might be a little cumbersome. Of course, your sports teams might not be too competitive. But, at least you could keep out those pesky minorities. Maybe you can name the Aryanville capital, “Tylerville,” or “DurdenTown.” Anyway, good luck with that, Tyler. Send me a postcard.
By the way, Tyler, Jews do not technically, “have their own country.” Israel is a democracy with a secular government. It is not a theocracy. Unlike “Anyanville,” where only Aryans are welcome, Israel grants citizenship to people of all colors, ethnic origins and religions. Israel’s government, called the Knesset, consists of various parties, including a party that represents Islamic citizens. So you see, Israel welcomes all who lish to live there, regardless of who they are, where they came from or their religious choice.

Tyler, what place are you referring where “people would go when they are unwanted?” If you speak of Jews living in Europe (since this blog is about the Holocaust, I can only infer that intent), many, if not most of those Jews had ancestors who lived in Europe longer than the gentiles who turned them in to the Gestapo and who murdered them in Nazi death camps.
Jews immigrated to Europe after their ancestral homeland (Israel) was conquered by the Greeks and Romans; long before the Crusades. And those Jews were welcomed in most of the places where they lived. Europe had a small population and there was plenty of room for everyone. During the Dark Ages and the Renaissance, Jews accepted jobs that Christians found distasteful, such as money-lending. In many lands, they became leaders of commerce, education, medicine and industry. It was only after the Reformation that Jews became persona-non-grata, leading to the genocides of the Spanish Inquisition, the English Expulsion and the Holocaust. And since they were condemned only for not being Christian, it would be impossible in contemporary knowledge to say that they deserved their fate.
Moreover, Tyler, almost every land in the world contains people who were unwanted, including America (genocide of Native Americans), Africa, where genocide continues today and Asia (think China, Japan, Korea, Cambodia, Viet Nam, etc.). Virtually everyone in central and South America represents an unwanted group. After Columbus, Cortez and Magellan, the indigenous populations were wiped out by war, famine and pestilence brought by the invaders. Scotland has been imposed-upon by England for many centuries. I could go on. There are but a handful of vastly isolated locations on our planet where the indigenous population remains as it was two thousand years ago. Unwanted people live everywhere else.
Thus, Tyler, one cannot (without significant chutzpah) point towards Jews living in Europe without also pointing to virtually every place on the planet where non-indigenous people arrived. But what makes Jews different, Tyler, is their benign nature. Can you name one land that Jews have conquered? History reveals that Jews have never attempted to conquer any land to which they have immigrated. Ironically, Jews have made the lives of those around them better, with every facet of science, technology, education and commerce – even in places where many disliked them.
If your intention was to suggest that Jews were unwanted in Israel, then you are completely mistaken. When Jews arrived after the exodus from Egypt, only Canaanites lived there. Canaanites welcomed those Jews and they lived side by side in peace for many years. However, Canaanites have no surviving descendents. Therefore, Jews are the only original inhabitants of Israel, their ancestral homeland who remain there. As for “unwanted people,” Israel has been conquered by Assyria, Babylonia, Greece, Rome, Christians and Muslims. Jews lived in Israel at least 1,000 years before the creation of Islam and at least 1,500 years before Palestinians arrived. Thus it’s safe to say that Israel is their ancestral homeland, they never left (although they were conquered repeatedly) and therefore they cannot be “unwanted” in their own homeland. In 1948, the UN agreed with this and declared once more that Israel is the contemporary Jewish homeland.
No people should be forced to depart from their homeland. And if forced out, they cannot ethically be declared unwanted elsewhere without cause. Jews have never been responsible for genocide – anywhere. The only cause anyone has declared about Jews being unwanted is simply that they are Jews. Would it make sense to force Christians to move out of North and South America and Africa? Are they too “unwanted?” They brought disease and death. Jews only brought determination to succeed, commitment to their faith and a deep, persistent love for education. How does that become “unwanted?” What did Jews do to deserve that fate?
So the Israelis that kick people out of Palestine or the West Bank or the Gaza Strip are allowed to do so correct?
1. Jews did not “kick out Palestinians.” In 1948, when the UN announced that Israel would be the contemporary Jewish State (on the same land that is the ancestral Jewish homeland), the Arab world rebelled with anger. The leaders of Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan told Palestinians living in the Holy Land to leave, in preparation for the annihilation of Israel. They told the Palestinians that they would be able to return to their homes, as soon as Israel was defeated. In this, they meant that it would take only a few weeks to drive every Jew out of the land. To the great surprise of everyone, Israel pushed back the attacking Arabs and saved their homeland from destruction. Tyler, in all of modern history, no nation that was attacked without provocation and defended itself successfully has been forced to give land back to the attacking nations. You should also know that the first act of the Israeli government was to welcome everyone currently living there (all religions and races) as free and equal citizens. The nascent Israeli government begged Palestinians to stay. In fact, those that did (and their children and grandchildren) today live as citizens of Israel with every benefit that Jews have. They even have their own party in Knesset. And they are exempt from mandatory military service. Israel was and is the Jewish homeland. They cannot be “unwanted” and they never cast out Palestinians.
2. The topic of this blog, Tyler, has nothing to do with Israel. This blog is about the Holocaust. Israel did not exist then. Therefore, your attempt to use Israel as a bargaining piece in your argument about Jews being “unwanted” is non-sequitur.
3. If you want to discuss Israel, that’s fine with me. You can start your own blog about it. Or, you can visit someone else’s blog about the Middle East and post comments about Israel there. This blog is about the Holocaust, which ended before Israel was created.

Thanks for your efforts. Do you know that Heinrich Himmler admitted the Holocaust openly in speeches to the Military Staff in 1943? The transcripts are on Youtube and the internet as well. I use that to ‘prove’ to skeptics what we know to be true, that the Holocaust happened.

I’ve read and heard several Himmler speeches that validate your assertion. To the world community, Nazis were careful to avoid using words like “extermination, annihilation, murder,” etc. In reality, they systematically exterminated six million Jews and countless others, deemed “not sufficiently Aryan.”
Yet, several times Nazi leaders slipped in public and admitted that their policy was to murder all Jews in Europe and beyond. Such was the case with Himmler speeches, when he presented the Nazi plan to destroy the Jews of Europe. These speeches were recorded and preserved. Anyone can access these records. They prove that Nazi leadership planned and executed the annihilation of Jewish men, women and children, wherever they could be found.
The records of the Wannsee Conference reveal that Nazi leaders planned the extermination of all Jews with concentration and death camps, as well as with the use of Zyklon B and other assembly-line methods of mass genocide. SS testimony and captured German war records prove that the annihilation of Europe’s Jews became an active policy, especially with camps in Eastern Europe and Germany. Death camp workers testified that the genocide occurred (see Auschwitz, Dachau, Sobibor, Majdanek, Gross-Rosen, Mauthausen and others). That’s in addition to the testimony of camp survivors, workers, guards and nearby communities where tons of human ash fell.
These records exist at the US National Archives, the US Holocaust Museum, Yad Vashem and many other museums. They are available for all to see. So, the next time someone tells you that there were no gas chambers, death camps or six million murdered Jews, just refer them to the above-mentioned museums and historical agencies.

But, when you purposefully discount the vast, vast majority of professional historians on Holocaust fatcs, then you are certainly ignoring veracity. Eiinstein left Europe after the Nuremberg Laws made Jews second-class citizens. If you really understood Einstein (and I’m not too certain, based upon your comment), then you would know that he feared for his life and the lives of his family and friends, all because they were Jewish. You can read this for yourself in one of the best Einstein biographies, “Einstein: A Life,: by Denis Brian; 1996, John Wiley & Sons.

Professor Arthur Butz rightly labeled it “The Hoax of the Twentieth Century” in his book of that title.
It’s high time for that pernicious hoax to be exposed for the lie that it is.
Jack, your “Professor Butz” is the “butt end” of jokes among the community of professional historians. Please note that Butz is a PROFESSOR OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, NOT HISTORY. He should be one of the last individuals to claim as your prophet of Holocaust denial, along with other prominent Holocaust deniers who are NOT professional historians. You might as well proffer You Tube videos as evidence, as do most revisionists.
What strikes me as odd is that Holocaust deniers must know deep in their heart that millions of Jews were systematically exterminated. Thousands of thesis and dissertation research projects confirmed this. Wannsee Conference records reveal that the SS, through Heydrich, Himmler and Eichmann were tasked with the extermination of Europe’s Jews, most through death camps using Zyklon B. At the Nuremberg trials, Nazi leaders admitted to murdering millions of Jews. Add to this anecdotal evidence, provided by camp guards and workers, Holocaust survivors, Polish famers who received thousands of metric tons of human ash for fertilizer.
During various tribunals after the war, hundreds of Einsatzgruppen participants testified that they were tasked by the SS to murder as many European Jews as possible. Members of my own family were likely murdered at Babi Yar, along with at least 80,000 other Jewish men, women and children. Parents were forced to watch as their naked children were shot; their bodies dumped into trenches. With the SS watching, hundreds of thousands of Jews were taken from their homes, their possessions looted, they were force-marched to trenches and then shot and buried. Many of them were buried alive with wounds that were not mortal. All of this is available for your perusal, not on You Tube, but at the US National Archives and many notable academic institutions of higher education (see Emory University).
Jack, you may claim “Butz” until hell freezes over. His comments are not accepted by professional historians. Do you ever wonder why virtually every public school in the free world teaches the same facts about the Holocaust? Could it be because the proof is so incredibly overwhelming? The only real question is why someone would try to deny these facts. The answer is that there are a few possibilities. They hate Jews and cannot tolerate that Jews have obtained some measure of sympathy because of the Nazi genocide. Anti-Semites distort the truth in a way that promotes antagonism against the object of their hatred (Jews). Many deniers likely find it necessary to deny the culpability of their ancestors and heroes (Germans). In a paranoid way, they think that teaching the truth about the Holocaust somehow disparages contemporary Germans. Of course, no one blames current Germans for the genocide perpetrated by their ancestors. The world understands that Nazis were the most mendacious and evil villains of history. You can accept this veracity, or remain a denier like Butz, ridiculed by professional historians.
More propaganda crap. Upon real historical examination you will find NO JEWS were made into soap. NO PERSONS were gassed at Dachau. Quite a few books on the holocaust are outright lies. There was a swimming pool at Auschwitz where INMATES used to swim. The Camps had, mail service, musical orchestras., camp money and more things to keep them alive then wanting them dead. Their clothes and bedding were gassed or hot steamed and even zapped using microwaves so that they could live, not die in the camps. Most of the Holocaust stories are just out right lies or exaggerations of the above methods their clothes and bedding were made safe.
The gassing stories followed these real historical facts and became woven into the holocaust time line just like high school freshmen going to high school were always told of the swimming pool down by the cafeteria or other gullible stories not based on facts but barn yard rumor. I don’t know where you obtained your interesting, albeit inaccurate collection of Holocaust information. Your comments about Auschwitz (“a swimming pool where inmates used to swim”) are incredulous, and lacking in any serious reference.
I have interviewed Holocaust survivors, including Auschwitz victims (calling them an “inmate” is far too pleasant a description). I am a published author and Holocaust researcher, with literally thousands of hours of research. I’ve been interviewed by newspapers, magazines and on distinguished Internet sites. Victims at Auschwitz did not lounge about or swim in a pool. Nor did the SS use “microwaves to steam bedding.” In point of fact, the victims had no “bedding.” Zyklon B was used at Auschwitz, Dachau, Sobibor and many other Nazi death camps. It kills humans much faster than insects, because insects have no lungs to process it quickly into the bloodstream. One camp had mail service for a year (Theresienstadt). There was also an orchestra there. The SS used this as a ruse to fool the Red Cross into believing that Nazi Jews were well taken care of. Auschwitz also had an orchestra. They played classical music to calm incoming victims as they were moved from railroad cars to the gas chambers of Birkenau. Auschwitz victims had brutal and vicious medical experiments performed upon them, including surgery without anesthesia. They had to live on less than 400 calories per day. When they weren’t burning the bodies of gassed Jews, they were slave labor for the Nazi military and German industrialists. They were not “lounging in swimming pools.”

Virtually every professional historian will testify that you are completely wrong. Millions of innocent Jews were systematically exterminated by Nazi Germany. Nazi leaders admitted this in testimony, one after the other. They had an out at the Nuremberg Trials. They could have denied murdering millions of innocent Jews. He knows fully well that the Holocaust happened, because he used to maintain a blog called “Scrapbookpages.com” which has actual footage from the Death Camps. The deniers cite You Tube and Neo-Nazi web sites as their “proof,” as though such insipid and mendacious places could be more accurate than Harvard, Stanford, Yale, the US Holocaust Museum or Yad Vashem. How preposterous. Who would discount the world’s leading historians in order to support a wicked revision of history that denies the known and accepted genocide of the Jewish people?
